five things.

There are more than five things i'm loving this week, but... sigh.. i guess i'll stick to my five.

The first is this beautiful new color nail polish i bought. Snappy sorbet by a sally hansen collection. I recently went shopping, bought a few peachy tops and can't get enough of the summery feel, not to mention-it makes me look more tan in these months where i'm lacking any tan!

if you follow me on instagram you might see some of my new inspiration before anyone else and know that, i'm about to redesign my website! It's been in the works for a while that this needs to happen. I was completely stuck and didn't even know what i wanted. After watching Creativelive with Jasmine Star, i was re-inspired to start my design! i started with an inspiration board. i went into my closest, around my house and snapped photos of the things i loved most and thought showed who i was. the colors are MOSTLY staying the same except for.. MINT! a little pop of color here and there that you'll be seeing. i'm hoping i'll have the new website up within a few months. here's my color palette i made. would LOVE your thoughts! i'll be showing sneak peeks of details as it all comes together!

If you've followed my five things blogs for a while, you might remember some of my other books i've shared and a few have been from John and Stasi Eldredge, today's book is no different. I picked up Epic at Savers the other day, i'm only a couple chapters in, but when i love how Eldredge writes, and he mentions Lord of The Rings, there's no going wrong. It's a wonderful little book about your life and the story it holds. i'm constantly looking for more inspiration for my photography and reading and taking in how beautiful life is, ALWAYS inspires.

i said i went shopping, i bought mostly pink/peach and a few pops of mint. yes this week has been mint obsession week. it was necessary. and check out that nail polish mentioned above! i also got a cute little mint belt to go with it. Some times, a girl needs to shop a little. Those boots, i've been wearing them a ton! my new favorite outfit.

so what started me making that cute palette from above?- Pinterest of course. But i wanted more than the ones being pinned, which is when i actually discovered the fabulous website Design Seeds. Do you have one color in mind? you can find any mix of colors you want which is not only great for design but for weddings! you can see what the colors would look like together and design your own. click on the image below to start playing with color for yourself!

This week gave me a lot of new ways to be inspired and feel fired up for the new things to come this year!

Five things.

It's been such another wonderful week for new inspiration!- i can't say enough how good it has been in this slower season to find new places for me to feel refreshed for new ideas!

The first five thing i want to share is one for brides both in Las Vegas area AND Minnesota. finally. :) I'd love to know what you all think. the first is a list for the best bridal shops in Minneapolis.  The second is a list for las vegas. i was a bride in the twin cities, and the first one mentioned (wedding Shoppe) is where i found my dress, jewelry and veil, great pricing, customer service and tons of variety!- i say heck yes to that. so now your opinions on these lists!

Where am i finding this new inspiration for photography?- here's one! An absolutely stunning group of individuals and the blog is Axioo click on the image to go right to their blog! What i'm finding i truly love about them, is it's not the same photos you're seeing on every other blog or even wedding blogs. It shows off their creativity, style, and passion for photography. LOVE finding blogs like this.

another sneak peek into the design of my new site (that brandon is going to be helping me start getting out of indesign and photoshop and into html coding this weekend!) is one of my favorites for the week. A very small part of the home page, you saw the colors last week, so here's how they're working together! Of course i had to add in where i'm from! :)

Brides, are you curious what an average wedding costs and what the money goes towards? here's a little image i found and wanted to share! I truly believe being in the wedding industry many of these prices are worth it, but when i was a bride there are some that you can cut!- my cake was MUCH less. My rehearsal (although was pretty much a disaster because it rained) probably cost 200. the musicians were talented so i paid them but they were friends too so having them there meant so much! the photographer was one thing i didn't want to skimp on.. yes i'm a photographer, that might be cheating. but for me personally it was one of the most important things. if you have any questions ever about pricing, i'm always here to help brides to be! what's a few of the most important aspects for you that you won't budge on? and things you don't mind taking the cheaper route? I will say, our wedding cost much less, but we did take the cheaper route on a lot of stuff and kept eyes open for good deals. But i wouldn't change a thing. (maybe more flowers. ;)

the last thing is going to seem crazy. it's cleaning. Brandon and i in the past two weeks have cleaned out almost our entire house. There is a possibility for a move this summer and we suddenly had the motivation for early spring cleaning. but hey, it's been 70 degrees lately so it's basically spring. I'm embarrassed to say that the bags below aren't even all of the stuff we have to give to good will. and also none of the garbage we threw away either. yikes. Not only has the actual cleaning been something great but spending time with brandon even this activity has been fun. it's something we're doing together and after it's done.. whew. feels so good! plus it gets us off the couch after we walk the dogs.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and felt motivated to get outside and enjoy!- Here in crazy 75 degree vegas i've been keeping the door open, and we grilled a couple times. it's been truly wonderful. Now off to find more motivation. Don't forget to tell me YOUR thoughts on prices for weddings.. i have so many opinions! :)

five things

Happy friday!!
Some of you might follow me on instagram, if so you probably saw these delicious new xs energy products that i'm currently obsessing over! XS energy is one i've shared before. It's not like other energy drinks, it's mostly a whole bunch of vitamins sometimes having a little caffeine. No sugar, and completely yummy. When i'm traveling to minnesota and waking up early for shoots i need energy and Amway came out with this! packets of energy. it tastes exactly like an arnold palmer (half lemonade and half iced tea) the number one ingredient is black tea. 8 calories, and no crashing. now i don't have to pack cans of drinks and worry about explosions and extra weight. PERFECTION
i stumbled upon a new song from Tegan and Sara that i absolutely am loving! i'm sad to say, i sometimes forget about wonderful bands, so good thing i follow them on fb! so hit play and listen to this song.. that's on repeat for me right now.
fabulous engaged couples!- i found a great article on what to wear for engagement photos. so click on the photo below to go right to it! really helpful if you're stumped on clothing!
the previous leads me to the 4th thing!- i've recently made new boards on pinterest that helps with clothing options for all types of sessions! click on the photo below to follow me in pinterest! there are board names like family-what to wear, boudoir-what to wear, and engagement-what to wear. i'm working on adding to these but could be helpful to get ideas for photo sessions!
a wonderful photographer here in town introduced me to THIS photographer. as soon as i went to sue bryce's site, i didn't leave for 2 hours. Watching all her videos, reading all of her information and admiring her gorgeous photos! i learned SO much already and put into action a few of her posing tips in my last boudoir shoot. basically, i love her. so whether you want to learn or just admire gorgeous photos. you won't be sorry you went to this site. click the photo below to go check out Sue Bryce
There are times where i struggle with sharing 5 new things i'm loving, this week.. was NOT one of those times. I've had such a wonderful week finding new inspiration, motivation, and energy! I'm always looking for new sites to help me stay inspired for shoots! What do you do to help stay motivated? i hope a few of these things can help you too! have a wonderful weekend!
