Beauty photography- Dry lake Bed Las Vegas

WOW! can't believe how fast December is going. i thought i'd be able to get at 3 posts done a week, turns out.. it's been crazy even during the slower months! I plan on doing lots of traveling again in 2014, so especially if you're in Vegas or Minnesota, don't hesitate to plan a session with me :) whew! i also wanted to completely redesign my website so... keep me accountable people! 

I drove to Vegas again in early December to do a few shoots. What keeps photographers fresh, motivated, and not cranky are some of their own concept shoots (you'd think added shoots would make us crabbier.. it doesn't) i asked the lovely Amelia to model for Jose and i at the dry lake bed. what is so fantastic about our own shoots is we can try whatever we want, no pressure of what's expected or needed and trying lighting, and even crazy stuff! i stay with a wonderful photographer friend Vanessa, who let me borrow the lovely fabric you'll see. it was a tad chilly but Amelia did so AMAZING!

 

 

Ladies, i have to mention again that Valentine's Day is coming up and even if you're too nervous to do some boudoir shots for your spouse or even for you!- this kind of shoot would be great. Beauty shots to show off, feel good about and having fun! I try to do photographs of me or my family every couple months, not only to show progress and changes, but for future family to treasure those too! 

so show off your hotness this season :) 

engagement session Bellagio Fountains- Las Vegas

I recently moved from Las Vegas to Holloman New Mexico as many of you know, but before i packed up my tiny mustang to leave, i had another great opportunity to shoot with Danette Chappell of The Amberlight Collective. She had this absolutely stunning couple coming to Vegas from Sweden, and let me tag along for some shots too! i encourage all photographers to find other people to shoot with. It is such a good experience, and Danette from day one working at the chapel together, helped me so much! So thank you for letting me be there this lovely day!

we started at the Bellagio Fountains, and walked to the Cosmopolitan Hotel and across the street to the Paris too. Always some fun areas that show a different part of Vegas.. green trees!

Las Vegas Maternity session- David and Valerie

I have had the opportunity to photograph this stunning couple from engagement on the strip and lake las vegas, to their wedding reception in california, and now maternity! i'm not sure if there is a more photogenic couple who are couple crazy about one another. we have had time to sit down and talk God, relationships and just life. i treasure this couple so much and am so glad to see their special blessings along the way. 

and seriously, she's just glowing and looks so beautiful. 

you can't tell by the (little) shade we found and how good they are at posing but it was sweaty hot this day. we found this cute park and got some fantastic shots! my favorite being the one above.

at every angle, she's just gorgeous. 

 they brought lots of goodies too! books, clothes, and these booties. so adorable. 

david and valerie are so good at being the model-looking couple but we busted out a few funny ones too. David can get Val cracking up at any moment! maybe even teasing her a little bit ;) 

oh and did i mention stylish? goodness. if it wasn't a thousand seemingly degrees this day, i think i could've photographed them all day! 

 i'm so happy we found some shade in las vegas this day. and it turned out to be a great place for photos! 

thank you once again for letting me photograph the two of you! you both really are such a blessing, and when we get together i always feel refreshed! congratulations again and i'll be continuing to pray for your growing family!

Kayaking adventures on lake mead, Las Vegas

It was our first time Kayaking on Lake Mead in Vegas and i don't know why we didn't go sooner! it was absolutely lovely aside from the blisters and paddling into the wind for most of it. (gloves next time...) 

as many of you may know, our new home is now in New Mexico. I just moved here this weekend but i'm getting much more positive about it! Before we left however, we decided to use the time (9 days to be exact since this summer has been crazy) to do some adventures together of things we wouldn't be able to do for a while. it made me realize we need to be doing more of these fun things together WAY more often. 

i didn't bring my camera because i knew if i did something awful would happen but thanks to an otterbox that floats, i stored my phone and when when i wasn't scared of tipping over of the huge boats passing, i snapped a few. so glad i did. they aren't perfect but that first one is going to get printed for sure! 4 hours, $60. definitely a doable date and we brought our own food so get to it. plus.. it works your arms and back. workout baby! 

what these semi forced adventures helped us learn is to take some time to get to know the area, we have lists down and now when we move we have fun things to do! i suggest you do too. people of mn.. get to it i know how much beauty there is there. unfortunately so do my torn a part feet from all the fun shoots! 

i was really excited to share this post cause... it's an awesome adventure/date/workout/tanning session and it's completely doable! so skip the dinner and movie this week and find something fun outside to do. 

what are some fun adventures you like to go on with your significant other? any ideas for us in the middle of nowhere!? ;) we already have two dates this week planned to get plugged in and start loving where we live. Oh and i'll be posting more of the new digs when things get picked up a little more around here! lots of fun decorated rooms to share! 

Dry Lake Bed- Adrian and his motorcycle

The Dry Lake Bed in Vegas is always a favorite to do a photo shoot at, and i've been wanting to photograph Adrian and his awesome motorcycle for a while! We went out last week, and he was such a good sport cause it was super hot out that day and he drove all the way from the north part of town. I'm so glad he did, cause i LOVE the shots we got! So men.. if you've been wanting some sweet photos too but not sure how, this is one way. i think he looks pretty awesome! 

i had to zoom in and still kept Adrian in it :) and if you look super close, you can kinda see me.. but ignore that.

seriously. i love these. and i'm encouraging men (and women!) to use their sweet rides for photos. what better art to hang on the ways then to show off! thinking my mustang might be in one soon now... Minnesota, Vegas, and New Mexico people. i'll be around. so contact me if you want some portraits done too!
